GeoInfo Mobile Frequently Asked Questions

Does GeoInfo Mobile require significant hardware resources?  

No. GeoInfo Mobile will run well on almost any Windows Mobile device and requires minimal hardware resources.  GeoInfo Mobile runs on Microsoft Pocket PC 2003 to Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system and Microsoft’s new Windows Phone 6.5 operating system.  It displays nicely on QVGA (240 x 320 pixel) and VGA (480 x 640 pixel) displays.

Does GeoInfo Mobile run on Smartphone’s?  

Yes. As long at the operating system is Windows Mobile or Windows Phone.

Can I get the GeoInfo Mobile data easily into a PC database and integrate it with my assay results?  

Yes. GeoInfo Mobile exports field data as comma delimited text files.  Importers can be built for this standard format data into almost any existing database as long fields exist for the data collected.  Geo-Information Solutions provides custom programming services to build importers and also offers a corporate database, GeoInfo Tools Database, with built-in GeoInfo Mobile and common assay lab importer tools to make importing and merging of data easy.

Is GeoInfo Mobile customizable for my need?  

Yes. All the pick lists in GeoInfo Mobile are customizable.  Lookup lists can be managed with an included PC database tool, Lookup List Manager, through Geo-Information Solutions GeoInfo Tools Database, or custom integration with your current corporate database.

The fields available for field data collection are extensive in GeoInfo Mobile and have been designed by many very experienced geologists and geochemists.  It has been shaped by over 7 years of continuous development based on the needs and comments of hundreds of field users.  Geo-Information Solutions provides standard version modifications that make sense for a variety of users, and custom development for very specific needs.

Can I demo GeoInfo Mobile?

Yes the download version is the full feature version, the only restriction being a limited number of records that can be added in each module, geochemistry samples, field observations and drill holes or trenches.  Licensing the download version will remove the record limit.
